      What MDF is and why it works well for doors

      MDF — medium-density fibreboard — is produced by pressing fine wood fibres under high temperature and pressure. The result is a uniform, dense and dimensionally stable material with a smooth surface that takes finishing coatings exceptionally well.Compared to solid wood, an MDF door will not shrink, swell or warp with changes in humidity — it holds its geometry throughout its service life. This is particularly relevant in Tbilisi's climate, with hot dry summers and humid autumns.

They are heavier and noticeably better at blocking sound.

      Finish options

      The finish determines the door's appearance and performance characteristics:
      • Ecoshpon — PVC film with wood-grain texture applied under vacuum pressure. Wraps around routed profiles, resistant to scratches and household cleaning products. The most popular choice in the mid-range segment;
      • PVC film — smooth, solid-colour coating without texture. Easy to maintain, well-suited to contemporary minimalist interiors;
      • Enamel — paint applied in multiple layers with sanding between coats. Matt or gloss finish, full RAL colour palette. Repairable: scratches can be touched up;
      • Natural veneer — a thin slice of real wood bonded to the MDF substrate. Looks and feels like solid timber, costs more. Available to order.
